WeLink Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and WeLink AI HK Limited ("we", "us"), which operates the WeLink app and website. Please read them with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data. Questions: [email protected].
1. Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using WeLink, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use WeLink. We record when you accepted and which version.
2. Who can use WeLink
You must be at least 18 years old. WeLink is built for people working, or looking for work, in Hong Kong. You may not use WeLink if we have previously removed your account, or if the law where you live does not allow it.
3. Your account
- One account per person, and it must be you. No accounts for someone else, for a company, or under a made-up identity.
- Keep your profile accurate and up to date, especially your job title and experience. People decide whether to refer you based on it.
- Keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
- If you sign in with Google or Apple, their terms also apply to that sign-in.
4. What WeLink is, and what it is not
WeLink is a networking platform. It helps people who want a job referral meet people who might be able to give one, through anonymous profiles, mutual matches, messages and coffee chats.
- We do not guarantee outcomes. We do not promise that anyone will refer you, or that a referral will lead to an interview, a job or any payment.
- Referral bonuses are not our business. If your employer pays you a bonus for a referral, that is between you and your employer, under your employer's rules. We are not a party to it, we take no share of it, and it is your responsibility to follow your employer's referral policy.
- We are not an employment agency. We do not find jobs for anyone, we do not place candidates with employers, and we do not charge job seekers for finding them work. Any hiring decision is made by the employer alone.
- We do not check users. Apart from the short skill quizzes, we do not verify who people are or what they say about themselves. Use your own judgement, especially before sharing personal details or meeting in person.
5. Community rules
When you use WeLink, you must not:
- harass, threaten, intimidate, discriminate against or abuse anyone;
- create a fake profile, impersonate someone, or misrepresent your job or employer;
- send spam, chain messages, or unsolicited advertising, or sell anything to other users;
- ask for or offer money in exchange for a referral;
- share another person's CV, contact details, messages or other private information outside WeLink without their permission;
- scrape, copy or collect profiles or other data, by automated means or otherwise;
- try to identify people from their anonymous profile before a match;
- interfere with the app, its security or its servers, or use it for anything illegal.
You can report, block or unmatch anyone from their profile or your conversation with them. We review reports and may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules, with or without warning depending on how serious the breach is. If you are in danger, contact the police first.
6. Anonymity and revealing your identity
Before a match, other users see your profile card without your name, photo, voice introduction, email or CV. When you and another user both swipe right, you match, and each of you can then see the other's name, photo, voice introduction, email and CV. Only swipe right on people you are happy to be identified to. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what is shown at each stage.
Anonymity depends partly on you: a bio or headline that names your employer, school or team can identify you before a match.
7. Your content
You own what you put on WeLink: your profile, photo, voice introduction, CV and messages. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy and display that content, only to run WeLink (for example, to show your card to other users, deliver your messages, and send text to the AI features you use). The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep as the Privacy Policy describes.
Your CV and messages are private and are shared only as described in the Privacy Policy. You must have the right to share anything you upload, and it must not break the law or anyone else's rights.
8. AI features
Some features use AI to suggest text, such as CV feedback, an elevator pitch, outreach messages, a headline, conversation openers and match explanations. AI output can be wrong, out of date or unsuitable. It is a starting point, not career, legal, financial or immigration advice. Check it before you use it. You are responsible for anything you send, post or submit, including AI-suggested text.
The archetype test is a self-description exercise, not a psychological assessment.
9. Premium
- WeLink is free to use within daily limits on swipes and AI requests, shown in the app. Premium removes or raises those limits and adds the features described on the purchase screen.
- Premium is an auto-renewing subscription bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The price, currency and billing period are shown before you buy. Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm.
- It renews automatically at the same price and period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your store account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app or your WeLink account does not cancel the subscription. After cancelling, you keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. We cannot issue them directly. Nothing in these terms takes away any right to a refund you have under Hong Kong law.
- We may change Premium features or prices. We will tell you in advance, and a price change will not apply until your next renewal after the notice. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then.
10. Other services
Connecting Google Calendar is optional. If you connect it, Google's own terms and privacy policy apply to your Google account, and Google Meet calls are provided by Google, not us. We are not responsible for services run by others, including the App Store and Google Play.
11. Ending your account
You can stop using WeLink and delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete Account. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering WeLink. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. Sections 4, 7 (as to copies we must keep), 12 and 14 continue after your account ends.
12. Disclaimers and limits on our liability
We work to keep WeLink running and safe, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". To the extent Hong Kong law allows, we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that other users are who they say they are, and we are not responsible for what other users say or do, on or off WeLink.
To the extent Hong Kong law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of opportunity, employment, income or referral bonus. Our total liability to you for any claim about WeLink is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and HK$500.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under the Control of Exemption Clauses Ordinance or other consumer protection law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Each version has a number, shown at the top. If we make a material change, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and ask you to accept the new version. If you keep using WeLink after it takes effect, you accept it. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The courts of Hong Kong have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting any right you have to bring a claim at the Small Claims Tribunal. Please contact us first; most problems can be sorted out quickly.
15. Apple users
If you downloaded WeLink from the Apple App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies where these terms are silent. Apple is not responsible for WeLink or its support, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it.
